A Town Built on Railroad Legacy

Proctor's history is deeply tied to the Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range Railway, which played a vital role in Minnesota’s iron ore industry. Today, the town celebrates this heritage with the annual Hoghead Festival, a lively event featuring parades, car shows, and live music, all honoring its railroad roots. You can also view the Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range 2-8-8-4 225, one of the mighty Yellowstone locomotives – a piece of railroad history.
