Activities & Attractions
The City of Proctor has incredible year-round activities available. There are biking, ATV, and snowmobile trails, city parks, school playgrounds, sports fields, Proctor Golf Course, Proctor Speedway, Historical Museum, and Spirit Mountain Recreation Area.

Proctor Historical Society
The Proctor Area Historical Society was founded in 1994 to collect, preserve, and disseminate knowledge about the history of the Proctor area. As a part of this mission, volunteers of the Proctor Area Historical Society manage and maintain a historical museum located in Proctor, Minnesota, throughout the year.
Rogue Eagle Mini Golf
Family-friendly spot with an 18-hole mini-golf course featuring themed holes, plus an ice-cream parlor.
Dirt Floor Arena
The Dirt Floor Arena in Proctor / Duluth is an indoor facility available for rent for private, public and/or club shows, expositions, clinics, demonstrations, etc.
Lake Superior Radio Controlled Car Club
The Lake Superior R/C Club is committed to creating a family-friendly environment for racers of all skill levels to enjoy racing radio-controlled cars. Events and classes are held throughout the year.
Proctor Speedway
Proctor Speedway is Home to the Silver 1000 and Midsummer Night of Mayhem and Sunday Night at the Races from May – September.
Ride the Skyline
Skyline Parkway runs from Proctor through Duluth with spectacular views of Lake Superior and the St. Louis River. An easy ride for bikes and motorcycles meandering through the Twin Ports.
Proctor Golf Course
Family-friendly, great for beginners, yet challenging for experienced players as well! Founded in 1927, the Proctor Golf Course is a scenic par 33 9-hole course. We are a public course offering riding carts, rental clubs, clothing, pizza, hot dogs, and an assortment of pop and beer. We’ll see you on the course!
Spirit Mountain Adventure Park
Hop on the “Timber Twister” Alpine Coaster or the “Timber Flyer” Zip Line for year-round fun unlike anything in the Midwest. In the warmer months, you can play 9 holes of Mini Golf, take a scenic chairlift ride, or try our lift-access award-winning downhill mountain bike trails. And in the brisker months, you can zip down the snow-covered slopes at the 4-lane Snow Tubing Park.
Tour Duluth
Proctor is lucky to have Duluth Minnesota as our neighbor. When in the area, be sure to check out Canal Park, its great food and attractions, and its incredible brewery tours.
Whitewater Rafting
The upper St. Louis River State Water Trail features some of the only whitewater rafting opportunities in Minnesota. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced rafter, guided trips provide an unforgettable outdoor experience in the heart of the Northwoods.

Proctor has a comprehensive Parks & Recreation Plan, and allows ATVs and snowmobiles on city streets. Proctor will be included in the St. Louis County Trails Plan. We are proud of our trails for biking, snowmobiling, skiing, hiking, and ATVs all with easy access to the Munger Trail, Duluth Crosstown Trail, the Superior Hiking Trail, and Jay Cooke State Park.

Hiking & Trails
Climb Ely’s Peak
Ely’s Peak is a perfect combination of being relatively short, a little bit challenging, and has epic views of the river valley just minutes away from Proctor. The trail is also a spur or loop trail for the 300+ mile Superior Hiking Trail. So, it’s a great way to get a taste of the Superior Hiking Trail as a day hike.
Jay Cooke State Park
Visit Jay Cooke State Park with its iconic suspension bridge, rock outcroppings, and historic buildings.
Park trails connect to the Willard Munger State Trail. Visit the historic cemetery and the gorge at Thomson Dam.
Magney Snively Park
Magney Snively Nature Park is near Ely’s Peak and Proctor Minnesota. The park is next to Spirit Mountain and connected to the Superior Hiking Trail.
Willard Munger State Trail
The Willard Munger State Trail begins in Proctor and ends 80 miles away in Hinckley. This multi-use trail has connecting trails for hiking, bicycling, in-line skating, snowmobiling, and horseback riding. Amazing vistas and spectacular views!
Superior Hiking Trail
The Superior Hiking Trail (SHT) stretches 310 miles from Proctor at the Wisconsin/Minnesota border up the Lake Superior coastline nearly to the Canadian border. Trailhead parking lots are situated every 5-10 miles apart, making the SHT ideal for day hikes, backpacking, thru-hiking and trail running.
Spirit Mountain Bike Park
Spirit Mountain Bike Park has received national accolades and is consistently ranked as a top 5 Bike Park in the Midwest. Enjoy the amazing views of Lake Superior and St. Louis River on a lift-accessed day of biking.

ATV/OHV Trails
ATV/OHV riders can start in Proctor and connect to hundreds of miles of ATV & OHV Trails. Check out the Soot Pits OHV trail, and fond du Lac State Forest trails. ATV use is allowed on designated highways in the City of Proctor and St. Louis County.
